Whether you’re marking a milestone, celebrating something you’ve made, or honoring the woman you’ve become, every session begins with a conversation about what you want your portraits to say. From there, everything is built around you: your story, your style, and a location that suits both.

Portraits that tell a story

More than 30 years of photographing women have shaped how every session works. The style is illustrative and a little dramatic, drawn from classic paintings and storytelling. Each portrait is meant to tell your story, whether you’re marking a milestone, celebrating something you’ve made, or honoring the confidence you’ve earned.

Comfortable in front of the camera

Many clients arrive nervous, often because of a bad experience being photographed in the past. That’s completely understandable, and you won’t be left on your own. After we talk about what you’re looking for, you’ll receive recommendations for posing, clothing, makeup, and location. During your session, posing builds on how you naturally hold yourself, so your portraits still look and feel like you.

How it works

1. First, we talk about what you’d like your portraits to be: a milestone to celebrate, something to commemorate, images for a specific use, or simply a portrait for you.
2. Next, we choose a date and location. You can suggest a place or describe the kind of setting you love, and I’ll suggest options. The $500 retainer, due when you book, holds your date.
3. A contract puts every detail in writing from the start. Then we plan your clothing, makeup, and any reference images you’d like to share.
4. Your session lasts up to 90 minutes on location. We follow the plan we made together, so you leave with a wide range of options.
5. About two weeks later, your proofs arrive in a private online gallery where you can view your images and place your order.
6. Every image you order is lightly retouched, color corrected, and professionally printed. You can choose prints, framed wall art, canvas prints, or digital files.

What it costs

Sessions begin at $500, which covers up to 90 minutes on location, the planning beforehand, and your private proof gallery.

The $500 retainer is due when you book your date. It’s non-refundable, but if your plans change, you can move your session to another date and keep the same retainer, with at least 24 hours’ notice.

Travel anywhere within 45 minutes of Orcutt, on California’s Central Coast, is included. A longer session, a location farther away, or one that needs special permits costs more, and we’ll talk through those details before you book. If your session total is more than the retainer, you can pay the full amount when you book, or pay the remaining balance up to 7 days before your session. Travel throughout California and beyond is available.

Prints, framed wall art, canvas prints, and digital files are ordered separately after your session.
