I love spring! Everything comes back to life…which of course makes for beautiful spring portraits.
Earlier this year I purchased an annual photo permit for the Santa Clara County Parks. That one permit opened up about twenty different location options for my clients, including Almaden Quicksilver Park.
Quicksilver is a beautiful mix of open fields, mature trees, long meandering paths, and giant boulders. For my photoshoot with Chloe, I had planned to do a very summery feeling shoot that would take advantage of the park’s features. You know the look…lots of backlighting and rich warm colors.
Well, as per usual, the weather had other things in mind. It was completely overcast, grey, and cold the morning of the shoot. My 16+ years as a wedding photographer taught me how to work with what you are given (Hello First Church of Uglyville!).
So, after a quick look around, I switched to a different look for the shoot – dark and moody. The field and curved trees were absolutely perfect for it. And, I decided wearing a coat over her summer dress was just fine until it warmed up a bit.
I love the results we got from the shoot and can’t wait to go back to Quicksilver for more photoshoots! Thank you Chloe for braving the cold and looking amazing while doing it!
